Josh Fiddy We all wish Josh a speedy recovery after his accident the other week and glad to see he's back home now, although still very sore. Hopefully we'll see him back on the bike soon clocking up those fast times. It goes to show that when on the bike we are extremely vulnerable and always have to expect the unexpected. Fortunateley for Josh, although he recieved some nasty injuries, he should be ok. There doesn't seem to be a much respect for cyclists from motorists and it seems to be getting worse. As a club, out on the roads regularly, we have all experienced this. Is it a laugh to get as close to us as you can, are they jealous when we get to a junction first, or is it the fact we wear cycling gear that gives them the right to be abusive or try to run us up the curb? even though we are on two wheels and they are surrounded by steel, airbags and strapped in! Who knows the reason why. Unfortunately if we respond or retaliate the focus is on us so we just have to be vigilant and conduct ourselves well, although I appreciate it can be very hard at times. So just be on our guard, keep our cool and enjoy the cycling as long as we all can and once again our regards to Josh and his family.
