TENBY ACES COMPETE IN THE PEMBROKESHIRE DUATHLON
2 teams, each of a runner and a cyclist, represented Tenby Aces Cycling Club in the Pembrokeshire duathlon on 25th May at Neyland in wet and windy conditions. Tenby Aces A Team, Kay Davies (runner) and Gareth Rees (cyclist) came 4th overall in the mixed team competition, with an overall time of 1 hr 24 min 42s. Tara Rees (runner) and Tanis Hand (cyclist) made up Tenby Aces B Team and they won the female team competition with an overall time of 1hr 20 min 34s. Both runners set the cyclists off to a good start with personal best times for the first run of 5K. Then Gareth and Tanis completed the 20K cycle with Gareth gaining 31 secs on Tanis, which wasn’t enough to pass her, and Tara maintained the B Team’s lead over the A Team with an excellent run on the final stage of 2.5K.
