    You may be one of those cyclists that love to ride on his/her machine. You can be the type of person that understands the tricks behinds cycling. However, you may be forgetting that some tricks still come into play. There is a great difference between you and other amateur cyclists. There are some things that only you can understand;

    Interlocking their bike with yours
    There is no greater pain than rushing back after visiting the store only to find someone else has mixed your lock with theirs. In a shopping mall where there are a lot of people, you will feel discouraged. You will be forced to wait until the person comes back. It could take forever and all you wanted was to get that one thing and go back to your normal routine. It could even be worse if the said person does not even apologize for inconveniencing you.

    You are stuck in traffic thanks to the red signal. The green light does not look like it is coming any time soon. You are forced to obey, so you stop. You rush hoping that it would turn red as soon as you get there. The saddest part is that things do not go as planned. However, as soon as your feet touch the ground, the light suddenly turns green. Clearly, the law of nature does not favor you and you start to think that you may be cursed.

    During hot summer days, you will be tempted to grab a beer or two, then call it a night. You will feel better after taking a long ladies cruiser ride through town. The beer will help you to relax your muscles so that you can have a good night rest and be fresh the next morning.

    There is an unwritten rule that states that anyone on your left will try to outrun you, eventually. This feeling will damage any cyclist that is trying to improve on his skills. You do not want that person reminding you how bad you are at cycling. Shaking off that feeling is even scarier since this person will fulfill his dreams in the end.

    As a human being, you must develop that sixth sense that helps you to stay off danger. Even though you are that one person that obeys rules of traffic, there is just something that keeps reminding you that you are about to be knocked down by a car. A car owner that does not have time to check if there is an oncoming bike before opening his door, is just reckless. As long as you keep being paranoid, then you will be forced to do unimaginable things to bail yourself out of these situations.

    There is this thing about using curse words between drivers and other road users. Even if you are the type of person that does not use those words, you may find yourself succumbing to pressure. Try as much you can to avoid using these words as they could be damaging to someone else’s esteem or reputation.

    There is nothing as heart wrecking for a cyclist that having the car door open when you are about to cross to the other side. Every time a person does that, your heart skips a beat and you are left wondering if you will survive the horrific crash. It is quite unfortunate that car owners so not look through their mirrors before opening their doors. You just need to keep your fingers crossed and hope that you are not the next victim.

    Of all the wrong things that could happen in your life, there is nothing as discouraging as having a car parked in your lane. This person has no respect for other road users. This makes you angry and you are tempted to call in the authorities. Since you are a good person, you let it slip and hope that you do not have to go through that incidence again.
