Based in the popular seaside resort of Tenby, West Wales, Tenby Aces Cycling Club was officially formed in April of 2007. There was a cycle club based in Tenby many years earlier, so we decided to take some elements from this and integrate them into the Tenby Aces, and as much as we want to look to the future, we felt it would be fitting to acknowledge the previous club and some of the history associated with it. You can find more information regarding this on the history page and also see how we arrived at the name of the club.
The idea was to have a club that would attract everyone, young, old, male and female and make them want to get out on their bikes. In that short time we have far exceeded our expectations. Our original forcast for members for the first year was passed in the first few months. We joined The Welsh Cycling Union and British Cycle Federation and have our own club kit on order thanks to our various sponsors.
We have regular club runs during the week throughout the Spring and Summer and weekend rides and Turbo Training sessions during the Winter. All ages and levels are catered for so no one gets left behind as there are various groups based on ability. Many of the members have progressed over the months and have gone on to compete in Time Trials and Sportif’s. In 2009 one of our female members became Welsh twelve hour time trialing champion.
We also enjoy a good social side to the club and try and get together for a night out on a regular basis. This has proved to be an integral part of the club as everyone gets to know each other a little better and makes being part of the club a far greater experience.
We feel as if we can only progress over the coming years and hope to see many new faces during that time.
